    How to run it

Players enter as individuals and get a new partner each round. Agree the scoring before play, for example one game to 11, win by 2. Each player keeps the points their pair scored, and the player with the most points at the end wins. Read how to run a pickleball round robin for scoring options and tie-breaks.

    Frequently asked questions

How many rounds do 9 players need?

The generator suggests one round fewer than the number of players, with a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 7. For 9 players, that is 7 rounds. You can choose a different number of rounds in the generator on this page.

How long does a 9-player round robin take?

With 20-minute matches and no breaks, the 7 rounds take 2 hr 20 min. If you start at 09:00, play ends at about 11:20. Add time for warm-up, breaks and score entry.

What if one player does not come?

Use the 8-player schedule instead. With 8 players, all courts are full and nobody rests.

    Can we use fewer courts?

Yes. Enter fewer courts in the generator on this page. With fewer courts, more players rest in each round, so you may want more rounds.

How do we score a rotating round robin?

Agree the scoring before play. A common choice is one game to 11, win by 2, or a timed game. Each player keeps the points their pair scored, and the player with the most points at the end wins.
