    How to run it

Players enter as individuals and get a new partner each round. Agree the scoring before play, for example one game to 11, win by 2. Each player keeps the points their pair scored, and the player with the most points at the end wins. Read how to run a pickleball round robin for scoring options and tie-breaks.

    Frequently asked questions

How many rounds do 12 players need?

The generator suggests one round fewer than the number of players, with a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 7. For 12 players, that is 7 rounds. You can choose a different number of rounds in the generator on this page.

How long does a 12-player round robin take?

With 20-minute matches and no breaks, the 7 rounds take 2 hr 20 min. If you start at 09:00, play ends at about 11:20. Add time for warm-up, breaks and score entry.

What if one player does not come?

Use the 11-player schedule instead. With 11 players, 3 players rest each round.

    Can we use fewer courts?

Yes. Enter fewer courts in the generator on this page. With fewer courts, more players rest in each round, so you may want more rounds.

How do we score a rotating round robin?

Agree the scoring before play. A common choice is one game to 11, win by 2, or a timed game. Each player keeps the points their pair scored, and the player with the most points at the end wins.
