    How Traditional Americano works

Everyone enters as an individual. Each round forms temporary doubles pairs, varies opponents and gives each player at most one match in that round. The generator plans the entire draw in advance. Choose padel Mexicano when you want each completed round’s scores to shape the next pairings instead.

Worked example: 8 players, 2 courts

Keep the suggested 7 rounds, 32 combined rallies and 20-minute match slots. Turn off “Randomise starting order” to make round 1 reproducible. The draw contains 14 matches in 7 court waves; from 09:00, its minimum planned play time ends at 11:20.

    Round 1 · 09:00 · Court 2

    Player 5 + Player 6 vs Player 7 + Player 8

Copy the whole draw or print every round with courts, rests and a score box for each pair. Player names stay in your browser; this free printout does not create an event or calculate a live leaderboard.

How the individual score is counted

    Example: Player 1 + Player 2 win 19–13

The two pair scores add to 32. Players 1 and 2 each receive 19 rally points; Players 3 and 4 each receive 13. At 16–16, all four receive 16. Add each player’s credited scores across their played matches to make the individual total.

You can set any whole-number target from 8 to 64 combined rallies. Each rally adds one point to one pair, so a completed match’s two scores must add to the target. The printed boxes are for recording results; the free Americano generator does not validate entered scores or update standings. NextArena padel tournament software handles live scoring and the individual leaderboard.

Matches and court waves are calculated from the free generator's draw. Play time excludes breaks and score entry; overruns can extend the finish. Each round is one court wave. When there are more players than court places, or the count is not divisible by four, rests appear in every round.

    Frequently asked questions

    What is Traditional Americano?

Players enter individually and change doubles partners between rounds. Each match has a fixed total of rallies, and each player receives the points scored by their pair.

    How do partners rotate?

The generator favours new partnerships and varied opponents while balancing unavoidable rests and court use. With limited players or many rounds, some pairings can repeat.

Can a match end in a draw?

Yes, when the combined rally target is even. For a 32-rally match, 16–16 is a valid equal split. Both pair scores must still total 32.

What if some players cannot play in a round?

Each court takes four players per round. Players who do not fit (because the count is not divisible by four, or there are more players than court places) rest that round. The schedule names those players and spreads rests across the field; a resting player earns no rally points from that round.

    Can pairs stay together?

Yes. Choose Fixed pairs · Team Americano. Each pair plays every other pair once in a full round robin, with the same rally scoring. Each pair keeps the points it scored.

Is Americano the same as Mexicano?

No. Americano plans the full draw before play and aims for varied partnerships. Mexicano waits for each round's scores before choosing the next pairings from the individual leaderboard.
