Players enter as individuals and get a new partner each round. Agree the scoring before play, for example one game to 11, win by 2. How many rounds do 8 players need?
The generator suggests one round fewer than the number of players, with a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 7. For 8 players, that is 7 rounds. You can choose a different number of rounds in the generator on this page.
How long does a 8-player round robin take?
With 20-minute matches and no breaks, the 7 rounds take 2 hr 20 min. If you start at 09:00, play ends at about 11:20. Add time for warm-up, breaks and score entry.
What if one player does not come?
Use the 7-player schedule instead. With 7 players, 3 players rest each round.
Can we use fewer courts?
